C.O.Q

-

The city’s 13th arrondissement is not a conventional choice for tourists, however in recent years this once- industrial quarter has started attracting cool new businesses that are transforming the neighbourhood. In the vanguard is C.O.Q, which stands for Community Of Quality, the charmingly creative vision of a Parisian interior design duo with an eye for antiques. The pair have individually furnished the hotel with mid- century Danish furniture, pieces created by the designers themselves, classic French portraiture and iconic Italian design. As lovely as the rooms are – the demure heritage colours contrast with the starkly monochrome bathrooms – you’ll want to spend time relaxing around the hotel too as C.O.Q is one giant inspiration. Look out for 1980s Memphis lamps and the antique Zanotta table found at Sotheby’s. The contemporary take on a winter garden is a great place to curl up and enjoy a glass of red, and don’t miss the chance to say bonjour to the resident chickens; living in a very ne hen house in the courtyard, they supply your eggs for breakfast.
