Held in New York City in 2015, Bonhams’ sale The Lauren Bacall Collection was a 20-hour marathon that fetched a grand total of $3.64m (£2.68m). Fans of the legendary film star fell upon the 740 lots – Schlumberger jewellery, Henry Moore bronzes, Armani clothes and more. A set of Louis Vuitton luggage monogrammed with Bacall’s initials made 11 times its high estimate.
