Only 500 hardback copies of JK Rowling’s debut Harry Potter novel were printed in the first edition, making them extremely soughtafter by collectors. Many books from the initial print run went to libraries and show signs of wear, making fine copies like this one – sold at Bloomsbury Auctions earlier this year – increasingly rare.
