POINT OF INTEREST
Tracking down a standout piece of antique furniture to create a focal point in your living room is a task many of us would be glad to have. The winning candidate perhaps features carved or inlaid decoration, original paintwork or a deep patina. It may be a large and imposing piece, such as a dresser or glazed cabinet, or it could be a delicate console table or handsome chest of drawers. If you prefer to collect items that are smaller in size – ginger jars, framed prints or coloured glass, for example – group them together for a striking display. Add flowers and candles to mark the seasons; arrangements that evolve with the addition or subtraction of some elements will always stay fresh and never fail to attract attention.
