Senior Stylist and Trend Specialist Paula Taylor on bringing wallpaper designs to life for Graham & Brown

I am a Senior Stylist and Trend Specialist, responsible for curating the global designs and colour trends for Graham & Brown. I also work closely with some of our celebrity designers to bring their ideas to life, alongside styling wallpapers for our customers to create beautiful ranges. I rst became involved in the wallpaper industry 20 years ago, a!er transferring from textiles. And I have never looked back! A typical day is hard to describe, as my role is so diverse. One day I could be presenting the future trends to customers, the next I could be working on a designer collaboration, trying out new techniques in our proo"ng department or brie"ng a designer on a new range. Every day is di#erent.

I love taking pictures. My friends are now used to me crouching down to get a great shot of a petrol spill in the rain, or the sun shining through leaves. Pictures are usually the starting point for wallpaper briefs.

Keeping abreast of trends is a key part of my role at Graham & Brown. I track where the market is going and what is on the horizon by visiting exhibitions and shows. We have regular trend meetings to update the team, where we o!en share photos and anecdotes. I love seeing trends emerge from something very small that then create a bu$er%y e#ect around the world.

Currently at Graham & Brown we’re focusing on creative design and innovation – in both our wallpapers and our ability to help customers imagine beautiful interiors, and we’ve recently released a Graham & Brown visualisation app. My current favourite design is Graham & Brown’s Kingdom Zebra.
