H&A’S TIPS FOR COLOUR SUCCESS

-

Strong colours look great when combined. Take Raffa’s cue and contrast walls with accessories in equally bold hues. If you’re unsure about a colour, test out how it sits within a room by introducing accessories of the same shade first. Dark, rich hues work well in the cool light of north-facing rooms. Southfacing rooms suit most colours, but be wary of the light’s golden quality. You can afford to be more daring in large rooms. As Raffa says, ‘you’ll still have space to breathe’. When creating a palette, look to nature for your proportions. Picture the strawberry plant – 90 per cent green, 10 per cent pop of red. This ratio should translate well into your scheme.
