The imaginatio­n of Piero Fornasetti knew no bounds, and prices for his original designs often soar at auction. 9th October 2018 marks 30 years since his death.

22nd October 1906 marked the death of French artist Paul Cézanne. With a hammer price of $274m, The Card Players is one of the world’s most expensive paintings.

On 10th October 1903, Emmeline Pankhurst formed the Women’s Social and Political Union from her family home. From 1906, they were termed Suffragett­es.
