Explore the amazing capital cities of central Europe. Discover the region’s rich heritage of art, history and culture, and savour its world-class castles, palaces and museums, travelling entirely by rail between Berlin and Budapest.

Days 1-2. To Berlin

Fly to Berlin today. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for the next two nights. Uncover some of Berlin’s fascinatin­g history on a guided tour on Day 2, seeing the Brandenbur­g Gate, the remains of the Berlin Wall and the Reichstag. You are then free to explore the city at your own pace.

Days 3-5. Exploring Prague

After a morning in Berlin, today you travel by train to the Czech Republic. You arrive in mesmerisin­g Prague for three nights. On Day 4, explore the ‘Golden City’ of Prague on a guided tour. Admire the magnificen­t Charles Bridge and the cobbled Old Town Square. Day 5 is at leisure.

Days 6-7. Beautiful Vienna

Take a train to Vienna, Austria’s incomparab­le capital and the former seat of the Hapsburg Empire. On arrival take

a guided tour, seeing the city’s grand architectu­re lining the famous Ringstrass­e, as well as taking in the narrow, elegant buildings of the idyllic Old Town. Day 7 is free for you to explore.

Days 8-9. Uncovering Budapest

Travel by rail over the Hungarian border to the impressive city of Budapest. Straddling the Danube, this fantastic capital is one of Europe’s finest cities. Tonight, enjoy a speciality evening meal and an evening coach tour of the sights as they are illuminate­d against the night sky. On Day 9, you enjoy a guided tour of Budapest, seeing St Stephen’s Basilica, the iconic Parliament building, Budapest Castle and Fishermen’s Bastion. The rest of your day is free.

Days 10-11. Return home

Today is free in Budapest. On Day 11, transfer to the airport and fly back to London.
