INSTA FAIRS

-

April and May heralded not only spring but the arrival of ambitious new digital initiatives in the antiques world – online versions of some of our favourite antiques and vintage fairs and markets.

Those expecting to go rummaging

at the Dorset Brocante, York Festival of Vintage, Court House Farm Brocante in Somerset, the Li le Vintage Lover Fair in Norfolk, The Decorative Home & Salvage Show at Ripley Castle in North Yorkshire, The Country Brocante in Sussex and The Vintage Bazaar in Somerset were not le disappointed. By clicking

through Instagram and Facebook, visitors could view stock from dozens of dealers, many of whom had styled and set up stands as if they were at the real thing.

Keep an eye out for more events, especially while mass gatherings of people continue to be restricted. And let’s not forget the absolute genius that is Virtual Vintage Fair (@virtualvintagefair), dreamed up by Your Antique Sourcing Studio duo Samantha Hansard and Tamara Broido, and brings us a dose of vintage fair shopping every day. ‘ We wanted to help dealers we’d come across during our sourcing and travels, to showcase their beautiful pieces,’ says Samantha. ‘ Virtual Vintage Fair has become a collaborative community of 30 dealers displaying their vintage and antique wares daily on Instagram.’ In a similar vein, the weekly Flea at

Vinegar Yard, London Bridge is running an online market on Saturday mornings (@FleaLondon) where visitors can browse a carefully curated selection of vintage and handmade wares.
