PIECE OF CAKE
Designer bakeware won’t guarantee a perfect sponge but your chances of success will surely rise. The matching tools are thoughtfully designed to work in tandem: the rolling pin, £20, is the ideal length for the tart tins, and the palette knife, £10, is large enough to lift a 23cm cake in one motion.

Dry food storage doesn’t have to be devoid of aesthetic charm. London-based ceramicist Desa Philippi created her hand-crafted ceramic jars (above) to keep control of overflowing pasta packets in her kitchen cupboards. The range expanded from tall and wide pasta jars to smaller containers for sugar, nuts and salt.
