CUBIST DESIGN

Garden photographer Marianne Majerus recommends Villa Noailles, a Cubist garden overlooking the Bay of Hyères, which was built in the 1920s for art patrons Charles and Marie-laure de Noailles. The design, by Armenian architect Gabriel Guévrékian, has strong sculptural shapes and decorative patterns with triangles and globular planting. “It shows that a garden can be a work of art,” says Marianne.
