YOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1 ARRIVE IN TOKYO

Fly overnight to Tokyo from where you’ll be transferred to the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. Your room will be on one of the highest floors, which have fantastic views of the Tokyo skyline and there are indoor and outdoor heated pools.

DAY 2 TOKYO AND TRADITIONAL TEA CEREMONY

Explore Tokyo and take part in an authentic Japanese tea ceremony to learn how to serve

matcha (a fine powder of Japanese green tea). In the afternoon, wander among the stunning cherry blossoms in Ueno Park or visit the Imperial Palace and gardens. Alternatively, go shopping in the famous Harajuku district or Ginza’s department stores.

DAY 3 MOUNT FUJI TOUR

Today is all about majestic Mount Fuji. You’ll travel from Tokyo by coach and stop for lunch at the Hakone Lake Hotel. Plus, enjoy a cable-car ride and a boat cruise on Lake Ashinoko. You’ll return to Tokyo by high-speed bullet train.

DAY 4 BOARD YOUR CRUISE SHIP

Transfer to Yokohama and board the Diamond Princess to start your journey around Japan’s Pacific coast.

DAY 5 GAMAGORI

Today you will visit Gamagori on Mikawa Bay. See the hot-spring resorts along the coastline and tiny Takeshima Island, home to the Yaotomi Shrine.

DAY 6 OSAKA

Visit Japan’s second largest city and take the short journey to Kyoto*, the ancient imperial capital, home of 17 Unesco World Heritage sites, including the Golden Pavilion. You can also visit the Ryoanji Temple and see traditional geisha in their kimonos.

DAY 7 KOCHI

Enjoy the historic city of Kochi on Shikoku Island, with a trip to one of its world-renowned feudal castles*.

DAY 8 AT SEA

Relax on board the Diamond

Princess. Book a treatment in the Lotus spa with its Izumi Japanese bath, or simply lie by one of the ship’s four pools.

DAY 9 BUSAN

Stop at Busan, the second largest city in South Korea, your gateway to a fascinating land whose culture is a unique amalgam of old and new.

DAY 10 AT SEA

Another chance to relax and enjoy some of the ship’s on-board entertainment.

DAY 11 YOKKAICHI

Dock at Yokkaichi on the shores of Ise Bay, from where you can visit the city of Nagoya. Visit the Ninja Museum* of Igaryu to find out about the life of a ninja as well as seeing them in action.

DAY 12 DEPART FROM TOKYO AIRPORT

Transfer from the Diamond Princess to the airport for your overnight flight back to London.
