DOUBLE DELIGHT

THE HOMES & GARDENS COLLECTION BY TILE GIANT CELEBRATES THE POWER OF PORCELAIN WITH DESIGNS FOR USE BOTH INSIDE AND OUT

-

NOW that the focus is firmly on unifying our indoor and outdoor spaces, porcelain tiling is breaking new ground, offering standout flooring to link interiors and landscaping. The Homes & Gardens collection from leading tile specialist Tile Giant navigates this inside-and-out transition effortlessly, showcasing the unique qualities of porcelain.

Strong, durable and available in large-format sizes, porcelain tiles have a lot to offer. ‘Porcelain has a chameleon-like ability to copy natural wood and stone, replicating the texture and shading variations,’ says Kamila Chalfin, marketing and brand manager at Tile Giant. The collection includes tiles with the look of timber, stone and contemporary concrete, many of them in versions for indoor and outdoor use.

When internal refurbishment projects and outdoor spaces are conceived with matching tiling, the boundary between them blurs, giving the impression of extra space. Axis porcelain tiles will lead the eye from the kitchen directly to a patio. These large-scale tiles with the subtle shading and texture of stone are rectified – made with extra-straight edges to be laid with a finer grout line for a seamless appearance.

The Flow planks, also from the collection, have all the warmth of wood replicated in porcelain. Laid outdoors, they are a fine alternative to decking as they won’t rot or weather. Experimenting with laying patterns can give a project a unique look; herringbone patterns add flair to a patio and strips can be set within a lawn as a contemporary take on stepping stones.

Unlike natural paving, porcelain tiles are algae and moss resistant. When used outside they won’t lose their colour and are frost resistant so cold weather won’t crack them. They have a slip rating of up to R11, a safe choice for both indoor and outdoor use.
