MY LIFE IN TEN...
THE INTERIOR DESIGNER SHARES SOME OF HER LOVES
I love the La Galerie Italienne in Paris because it has an amazing selection of artists, including Ugo Schildge, whose work I really admire. I appreciate the way he blends bodies and vegetation in his art.
I usually take my almond milk cappuccino to go from my favourite coffee shop, Noir Coffee. I am also addicted to the restaurant Noura’s Lebanese pastry.
I recently redecorated my office and used it as an opportunity to look at Pierre Frey’s new Soleil Levant collection. I also personalised my chair with the Threshold printed linen in Carbon from Schumacher.
My favourite dress is a vintage black Dior evening dress, bought by my mother and something I will keep forever. For day-to-day life, I love Pierre-louis Mascia’s kimonos, Forte Forte’s printed silk pieces and moccasins from Church’s or Gucci.
I’ve just finished working on the Hotel Hana in Paris, which is a place that has managed to reach what I call a “maximalistic Japanese” style. For me, the challenge was to compose a unified, chic, warm decor, while drawing inspiration from my previous trip to Japan.
Going to flea markets is a passion because you can always find the best things. The last one I visited was Ij-hallen flea market in Amsterdam.
My husband gave me a Louise Carmen sketchbook for Christmas, which I love and keep on my desk, along with photographs of my children.
I read Death in Venice by Thomas Mann during the pandemic – a book first published in 1912. It really helped me get through that strange time.
As soon as I get home, I get changed straightaway into my silk pyjamas from this brilliant Parisian brand Reiner Upcycling, which is dedicated to supporting a circular economy in fashion. I love the ethos.
I discovered Diptyque Benjoin Bohème fragrance a year ago and now I can’t live without it. I find its scent soft and appealing.
