PINT-SIZE PONY TRIUMPHS
TIGER LILY II (above) might only brush 14hh, but the eight-year-old mare had no trouble fending off her taller opponents at Bicton Arena (2), where she topped a BE80(T) section.
Her rider, Amy Cox, said: “This was our first win and all the more special for her being a home-bred.”
Lily is out of Amy’s dressage mare, Just Suzie, by the FEI dressage pony, Bernwode Brokat.
“She’s a real all-rounder; she’s qualified for the British Dressage Area Festival semi-final at elementary and the British Showjumping junior British Novice and discovery second rounds,” said Amy, who is a chartered physiotherapist.
“I treat horses all over Devon and Cornwall; I had around 50 clients competing at Bicton over the two days,” she explained, adding: “It was nice to beat them for a change — they usually do far better than me!”
