Former potential eventer Waterlily has found a new vocation, helping Scarlet Scott step up to horses.
Scarlet, 15, enjoyed her second winning outing with Waterlily at Blue Barn and they now have three plus-70% scores on record.
The Wanninger x Dimaggio 11-year-old has spent much of the past five years as a field ornament.
“We’re not mare people, but we tried ‘Petal’ and fell in love with her,” said Scarlet's mother, Sally.
“Scarlet is home schooled so that she can spend more time in the saddle because she wants to become a professional rider.”
Scarlet added: “I’ve only ridden Petal for six weeks but judges comment on the harmony in our partnership. She needs to get stronger to improve her balance before we move up to novice.”

Anne Greenaway picked out two performances in her novice 38 class that impressed her: Georgia Davis and the six-yearold Laurentina, gold winners on 73.54%, and silver winners Bria Cummins and Irish cob Dylan, who scored 68.22%.
Georgia’s Quaterback x Weltmeyer mare came to her from her breeder in February.
“Laurentina’s had some mega scores. Today I was practising for regionals and just wanted a solid test,” said Georgia.
Bria, who runs a freelance groom business, has turned gift horse Dylan from a bolter into a consistent novice performer.
“I was most pleased with our mediums today as he can struggle with them at shows,” she said.
