WHAT A SHOW!

Sir — How lucky we are to have such a super venue as Bolesworth. Last month, I spent three days there watching Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin — Uthopia looked magnificent and both riders were a pleasure to watch. The young riders of the quadrille also put on a polished performance, so the future looks bright with these talented youngsters.

It was a delight to see Nick Skelton riding Big Star, with Arko making an appearance, before seeing a foal by Big Star out of Tinka’s Serenade make £92,000 in the auction. It was also good to see showjumpers John and Michael Whitaker and Ben Maher taking part — where else in the north would we get to see all these Olympic riders?

This event gets better and better, and Nina Barbour and her team are to be congratulated on producing such a marvellous and professional show.
