Kim, who runs the Sycamore

Stud near Bath, said: “We usually concentrate on the youngsters, who are ridden by Danielle Rhodes, but this year I was determined to do some dressage myself.

“I’ve been having some lessons with Sue Petty and was really quite chuffed to beat Charlie Sawyer!” added Kim.

“My passion for dressage began when I worked for Shena KozubaKozubska many years ago and I absolutely love it.”

Andover-based Sally Green claimed both novice gold sections on the five-year-old Keystone Rhia, by Rhondeo, whom she bought from Suzanne Lavandera as a foal.

“We went to have a look on the off-chance there was a foal we liked and came back with three,” recalled Sally.

“There was a field full of them, but Rhia’s very attractive and has three really good, loose paces.

I also have three two-year-olds from Suzanne and we’re going down again later this year to find some more.”

Marie Morgan, 39, a dog trainer and behaviourist, won the prelim 17 bronze on her second BD outing with her seven-year-old Pebbles IV at Tall Trees Arena.

“It took us three hours to get there from Penzance in the holiday traffic, but it was worth it. We hope to do some more music, having been to Olympia in the riding club quadrille when she was five,” said Marie.
