FOUR FACTS ABOUT FOXHUNTER WINNER EBOLENSKY

-

The eight-year-old mare was originally produced by Samantha Jimmison and won the Burghley young event horse final as a five-year-old.

She likes to bite everybody — “just nipping and playing” — other than rider Matt Sampson: “I could put my arm out in front of her and she wouldn’t bite it,” he said.

She thinks the warm-up is a “bit of a waste of time” and is “always fresh, bucking and having a play and doesn’t concentrate," said Matt. “She finds jumping so easy it’s just fun for her rather than in any way like work or a challenge."

By Clinton out of a Heartbreaker mare, Ebolensky (pictured, below) was bred by Patrice and Frank Koster in Holland and was purchased as a foal by owner Rachael Evison. Other horses from the stud’s stallions competing at HOYS last week included Angelie

Von Essen’s Daniel and Robert Whitaker’s Cash Sent.
