Sir — Re­cently my port­fo­lio for my BHSAI (Bri­tish Horse Society As­sis­tant In­struc­tor) — which had been as­sessed and passed — was re­turned. When I ap­plied for the Pre­lim­i­nary Teach­ing Test exam, I’d used my Pony Club AH and B+ tests to gain di­rect en­try. How­ever, the let­ter ac­com­pa­ny­ing my port­fo­lio stated that in or­der to hold

Stage 3 in­struc­tor in com­plete horse­man­ship, I must first com­plete my Stage 3 rid­ing, lunge and horse care ex­ams.
