‘OUCH, THAT HURTS…’

-

WHEN young home-bred mare Dee Dee Demour (pictured) failed to settle in any type of bit, her owner James Littler sought veterinary advice.

“She was unhappy, even in a soft, straight-bar rubber bit, and started rearing up and spinning round,” says James. “Nadine checked her over and thought the behaviour was associated with wolf teeth in her upper jaw. We had them removed in February and gave Dee Dee time off to recover.

“Since returning to work, she has become very soft and easy,” adds James. “She comes onto the bridle and is much improved.”

The four-year-old mare has since started her competition career and is now jumping at discovery level.
