‘HE’S WORKED LIKE A TROJAN’

-

“I’VE never been so nervous about anything in my life,” confessed Robert Walker as he watched son Sam, 13, post his first HOYS win, scoring with the 133cm show hunter pony Millwood Kaiser Chief [pictured, right, winning at NCPA Derbyshire Festival in the spring].

“When they were calling the numbers out I couldn’t stand still, I was shaking and felt sick,” he confessed. “The pony has had five wins this season and would be on form, but this is HOYS and anything can happen. I wanted it so much for Sam because he’s worked like a Trojan helping us this week — he even rode some of the hunters in for me — and was exhausted last night. Yet he got up this morning bouncing.”
