NO BAKEWELL SHOW TO RUN NEXT YEAR

THE Bakewell Show will not run in 2018, as directors rest the land and have a “rethink”.

After heavy rain meant part of the 2017 show was cancelled, organisers have decided to reassess.

Ian Else said: “Visitor numbers have been falling

— a nationwide trend among country shows — which suggests we need a rethink.

“A year off will not only give the ground time to recover, but also give us time to reconsider content and focus on our aim of promoting agriculture and horticulture in Derbyshire.”
