A former eventer who loves to compete is enjoying a new career in the dressage arena with two novice wins at Fairoak.

Supporter Z, owned by Jessie Dane and ridden by her sister,

Ali, was so excited to be out that Ali thought she would never get on him.

“He passaged all the way to the arena, but in the test he was a true professional,” said Ali.

A fall six months ago caused a massive bruise to Supporter’s navicular bone and he has been recuperating ever since.

He is now 18 years old, but

Ali hopes to qualify him for the regionals at novice and for the Area Festivals at elementary and medium.

“He’s full of quirks, but he’s an absolute joy to ride,” she said.

Anna Miller had the day’s highest score of 76% in the elementary 44 with Julie Taylor’s eight-year-old mare Miss Hit II, by Royal Hit.

“I’ve been riding her for a few weeks as she is for sale,” said

Anna. “She’s an elegant horse and was consistent and relaxed in the arena. It was a fluent, mistake-free test and she totally concentrated on me.”

At Crofton, Wellington Riding’s stable manager Jade Vale won both novices on Prinzessin K with plus-72% scores. Jade has owned the five-year-old mare for two years.

“She is by the Dimaggio son Detroit, and has his active hindleg,” commented Jade.

“She can be spooky, but she was focused and listening in both tests. She’s based with me at Wellington and I’ve had a lot of help from Mandy Chaffin.”
