‘I only wanted to ride’

I SAT on my first pony when I was aged two and after that all I wanted to do was ride. I had to make do with the local riding school and their little ponies. Oh, the smell of their furry coats, the feeling of sitting in the saddle, trotting along on a hack – it was wonderful.
