Lights that need action
If a warning light comes up on your dashboard, don’t ignore it – here’s what it could mean
Faulty brakes cause accidents and, if this symbol stays on while you’re driving, there may be a fault with the braking system that needs immediate attention. Oil lubricates your engine and ignoring this can result in expensive damage. Stop in a safe place and contact a garage or breakdown service as soon as you can. A faulty airbag may not go o in a crash – leaving you unprotected – or deploy when you least expect it, causing injury. If this light flashes, you need garage help as quickly as possible.
This symbol appears for a couple of seconds when you start the car to tell you the engine is running.
If it doesn’t, there could be a problem, so get it checked as soon as you’re able to.
