Celebrations as school rated good by Ofsted
A RAWTHORPE school has been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.
Netherhall Learning Campus High School and The Creative and Media Studio were inspected in November.
Inspectors Tudor Griffiths and Joan Hewitt ruled the school continues to be good.
A spokeswoman for the school said they “are thrilled with the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection”.
Inspectors praised the leadership team for maintaining a good quality of education, telling them they are “resolute that pupils should reach their potential and this continues to pay dividends”.
Pupils were found to be making the progress they should, and often make better progress, with writing and mathematical skills having improved.
The progress pupils make in English is rated better than published results would suggest because the school enters pupils early for their GCSE examination “to help them build up resilience in examination practice”.
The inspector found it led to higher grades.
The Creative and Media Studio School inspection found there was strong careers information, advice and guidance.
Pupils who transfer to the studio school also quickly settle in.
The school was advised to develop pupils’ speaking skills.
