Youngsters rub shoulders with Giants

HUDDERSFIE­LD Giants have held their first skills session for lucky claret and gold supporters.

Budding league players aged between seven and 12-years-old were given the opportunit­y to train with the Giants first team squad.

Members of the Claret and Gold squad put on a selection of different drills on the day, along with head coach Rick Stone and assistant coach Chris Thorman.

The event ran at The Zone and was fully booked up within a few hours by children keen to learn their rugby skills from the best.

Club ambassador Eorl Crabtree, said: “It was the first time we have ran a Giants Skills School with the whole first team squad and I’d like to personally thank all the children and parents that turned up in their numbers and we hope you all enjoyed the event.

“The event was fully subscribed after just a few hours and we were delighted with the take up.

“I would also like to say a special mention to Rick Stone and all of the players for fully embracing the day and making it such a memorable event for the children and parents.” ■■Two days remain to take advantage of the Giants 2017 season offer.

The ex-Paramatta Eels and Sydney Roosters player left his home on November 26 without his phone or wallet, sparking a frantic search from friends and family.

Robinson’s family confirmed his death via the page on Facebook, ‘Let’s Find Chad’, set up to help widen the search after his disappeara­nce.

Robinson enjoyed nine years in Rugby League with spells at the Eels and Roosters, as well as a stint at Harlequins RL, now London Broncos, in Super League.
