Emley run riot to extend lead at top

-

Prolific striker Ashley Flynn bagged another hat trick to take his league tally to 35 and season’s total to 39, and he was matched by teammate Kieran Ryan who also notched a treble.

However, it was Sam Jerome who got the goal machine turning for the visitors as he opened the scoring after just five minutes.

Ryan netted his first on 27 minutes and Aaron Joseph put them three up before Nostell managed to pull a goal back to give themselves a little hope at half-time with the scoreline 3-1.

The league’s leading scorer Flynn made his presence felt just a minute into the second half, but Nostell again chipped back with a penalty on 53 minutes.

However, then the floodgates opened as Ryan struck twice in three minutes to put Emley 6-2 to the good and out of sight of struggling Nostell.

Flynn completed his hat trick with a goal after 74 minutes and then a penalty with 10 minutes remaining, while Liam Schofield concluded the scoring in the final minute.

Emley will be looking to further strengthen their grip on the leaders spot on Monday, January 2, when they are at home at the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground against Nostell Miner’s Welfare at noon.
