In Division Two, bottom club Scissett lost 9-2 to mid-table Slaithwait­e and Linthwaite beat Marsden 6-1 to overtake Berry Brow at the top of the table.

Colne Valley moved into third place thanks to a 5-0 win over Netherton.

Only two league matches were played in Division Three, where Brighouse moved into third place thanks to a 5-2 victory over Uppermill and Junction put more distance between themselves and the bottom teams with a 4-3 win, beating 3D Dynamos.

In Division Four there was a great win for Mount, who beat Cavalry Arms 1-0.

They remain bottom of the table, but this win keeps their chances of survival alive as they are only six points from safety.

There were victories for Heyside, who beat Deighton 3-2, Thornhill who beat Rose & Crown 5-4 and Westend, who beat Kirkburton 3-2.

In the Reserve Divisions, Shepley moved into third place with a 4-2 win over second-placed Skelmantho­rpe.

This combined with their own 2-1 victory over Kirkheaton puts Newsome within a win of securing the Division One title.

They have four remaining matches to find the three points they need.

While there were no League matches in Reserve Division Two, the tier below had only two, with Junction moving into fourth place by beating top-placed side Honley 6-4.

Hade Edge also beat Almondbury Woolpack 3-2 to keep them in the relegation zone.

In Reserve Division Four, Cumberwort­h B beat Cartworth Moor 6-0 to put them within touching distance of the top teams and the biggest win of the day went to Honley A, beating Westend 14-0!
