JACK HINCHLIFFE will be a special guest at Lord’s when England play their Test match against South Africa later this year.

Hinchliffe, who took 45 wickets for Armitage Bridge in the Drakes Premiership last summer, will be the subject of a presentation on the outfield at headquarters.

That’s because back in June, the New College Cricket Academy took on the MCC at Honley and Hinchliffe took five for 25 on the day.

Any five-wicket haul against the MCC, or a century with the bat, is honoured with an invitation to Lord’s, where a memento will be presented.

It will be extra special this year because the match will mark Joe Root’s first Test as England captain.

Hinchliffe will join the elite from other schools and colleges for the day to watch cricket and get a plaque.

New College head of cricket Peter Lombard said: “It’s great for Huddersfield New College cricket as Jack will be representing the college at the home of cricket.

“We are delighted for Jack as we have only had a few boys that have had the privilege to get this outstanding achievement.”
