World Book Day fun for pupils at primary school

donation in support of the annual initiative, which aims to encourage more children to enjoy reading and celebrate stories of all genres.

Danielle Augustine, assistant headteache­r at the school, said:“The pupils at our school really enjoy World Book Day as it provides them with a great chance to develop their reading and writing skills, as well as exercise their avid imaginatio­ns.

“We are very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for this generous donation, which will enable us to purchase more books for our library, helping the children to find stories that they can learn from and engage with.”

The event is marked in more than 100 countries and sees children dress up as their favourite characters, receive book tokens and take part in events run by schools and community groups.
