lot of experience, but so do we and we played well in parts of the game.

“Of course, it’s difficult to compare the Bundesliga to the Premier League, but the quality and ability in the squad is second to none and we just didn’t show that.

“But all the players here have played games within English football, some have played abroad and we have a lot of Premier League appearances between us.”

Wales midfielder Joe Ledley has angrily denied accusations that he laughed at Seamus Coleman’s horror injury in Dublin.

Republic of Ireland captain Coleman underwent surgery on Saturday morning after breaking his right leg during Friday night’s 0-0 World Cup qualifier draw with Wales at the Aviva Stadium.

Coleman was hurt in a 69thminute challenge by Neil Taylor, who was sent off as a result.

The Everton defender was treated at length on the pitch and was given oxygen before leaving the field on the stretcher.

It was at this point Ledley was pictured on the TV coverage, and one Twitter user posted a screen grab questioning whether the Crystal Palace player was grinning.

Other social media users then accused Ledley of laughing at Coleman’s injury.

Yet Ledley - who suffered a leg fracture last year just before Euro 2016 - actually appears to be grimacing as he stands with his back to Coleman in the screenshot.

Ledley said those who accused him of smiling during the incident “need their heads testing”.

He wrote on his official Twitter account: “I didn’t want to acknowledge the nonsense on here but to those who have wrongly interpreted & commented ... on what my thoughts were at that moment in time need their heads testing.

“My thoughts are with Seamus Coleman & I wish him a speedy road to recovery.”
