Community association gains ownership of village social hub
WOOLDALE community centre now belongs ... to the community of Wooldale.
The centre on Robert Lane was transferred from Kirklees Council to Wooldale Community Association, which is comprised of Wooldale residents, last month.
The association was registered as a charity in March 1978 before taking over the building from Kirklees Council on a lease from June 1978.
A spokesperson for Wooldale Community Association said: “Today the centre is a thriving hub of the community providing modern facilities for two pre-school groups, a mother and toddler group, table tennis, bridge, camera club, dancing groups, wood turners and wood carving groups, French and art classes, fitness, and pilates lessons.
“The centre is also available for private party hire.”
