Holme Valley views

HELEN Leitch led a group of Huddersfield Rucksack members on a circular walk in the Holme Valley.

They departed from Holmfirth swimming baths up to Underhill and took the Back Lane track to Upperthong. They followed footpaths and tracks over fields down into Marsden Clough from where they crossed Blackpool Bridge and went up Issues Road to Holme. They passed Brownhill Reservoir before reaching Dobb and continued up to the vinyard, across to Hillhouse and then followed paths to Cartworth Moor. They dropped down to Dover, went up to Cinderhills and skirted around Cliff before returning via the old coach route Berry Bank Road.

The walkers were rewarded by scenic views for most of the 15 miles.
