Will you get active for children’s hospice’s ‘Around the World’ challenge?
A CHILDREN’S hospice is taking its fundraising challenge to a global scale.
The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice is urging all schools, nurseries and children’s groups to sign up to their Around the World challenge. This has an overall aim to travel a cumulative 24,900 miles – an equivalent distance of travelling around the world.
Children can run, walk, skip or even dance their distance (be it one or two miles) with each entrant challenged to raise as much sponsorship money as possible.
Jason Costello, head of community fundraising, said: “At Forget Me Not we were excited to plan an event to celebrate Children’s Hospice Week, and what better way to kick-start 2017 than encouraging children to get active whilst supporting their local children’s hospice at the same time?”
The charity, which has Princess Beatrice as its patron, has partnered with Pennine Sports Partnership and schools, nurseries and children’s clubs regardless of their location.
The event has been planned to coincide with Children’s Hospice Week which runs in May.
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice provides care and support to local children with life shortening conditions and their families.
