With the men from Lockwood Park winning 60-14 against Morley last week to extend their unbeaten league record to 23 games, victory at home to Cleckheaton this weekend (3pm) could spark the start of wild celebrations.
Head coach Gareth Lewis believed that side’s performance last week proves their attitude is back on track.
“I think it’s fair to say that, subconsciously, the attitude and engagement levels have dropped off in recent weeks,” he said.
“But I believe we got back to where we needed to be against Morley last Saturday.
“The players were playing with smiles on their faces and enjoying the rugby.”
However, Lewis believes there are still parts to Huddersfield game which can be improved upon, despite them being unbeaten.
“Clearly there are still areas to improve on, but the way the lads approached the game was really pleasing and we are very much focused on this coming weekend.
“Hopefully, we’ll have something very special to celebrate this weekend, although we wont be taking Cleckheaton for granted.
