Slaithwait­e overtake Berry Brow and gain second place thanks to their 2-1 victory over Cumberwort­h, who are now in the relegation zone and 10 points from safety with only five matches remaining.

AFC Dalton moved into third position in the third division with a 5-2 win over Wooldale.

The victory moves them into third position behind leaders Almondbury Woolpack and Moorside, while Wooldale are second from bottom but still only a point from safety.

In the other match played Brook Motors defeated Uppermill 2-1.

In Division Four the biggest scoreline of the day was produced by Littleboro­ugh who beat Kirkburton 11-1 as they continued to chase the leading pack towards the top of the division.

Second placed Dalton Dynamos continued to put pressure on top placed Fothergill & Whittles thanks to a 5-1 victory over Rose & Crown.

Dynamos are now three points behind top spot but have three matches in hand over their rivals.

In Reserve Division One, Diggle still have a chance to claim second place after their 4-2 win over Heywoods.

They are in third but have one match left to finish the season as runners up to champions Newsome.

With Linthwaite having already secured top spot in Reserve Division Two, Moorside still have a chance of second place and did their chances no harm with a 3-1 victory over Kirkheaton.

At the other end of the table, Scissett beat Cumberwort­h 3-2 to boost their chances of avoiding the drop.

They are now seven points form safety with four matches remaining.

In Reserve Division Three, the only fixture played was Hade Edge’s 3-1 win over Marsden.

This puts Hade Edge into fourth place and Marsden still not assured of third division football next season as the teams below them still have the chance to overtaken them.

Leaders Fothergill & Whittles had another comprehens­ive victory this week in Reserve Division Four, this time with a 7-0 win over Westend.

Fothergill are now a point clear at the top with Littleboro­ugh in second after their 3-1 win over Hade Edge A.

Cumberwort­h B are climbing the table and are now third thanks to a 9-2 victory over Cartworth Moor.
