Live wrestling at Town’s fanzone

-

TWO live action wrestling matches will be held at Huddersfield Town’s fanzone at PPG Canalside ahead of the main attraction against Burton Albion at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Before Town’s crucial SkyBet Championship clash against the Brewers, the professional wrestlers will be at the nearby sports complex to entertain all the family with a number of other activities also planned for the day.

Alongside the exhibition bouts (at 12.45pm and 1.45pm) youngsters will be able to have their photo taken alongside the wrestlers with all the Fanzone fun starting from 11am.

The pre-match event will also see the usual outside games such a table football and table tennis, the GAME room, balloon modelling and face painting as well beer and a BBQ among a host of other attractions.

With the club dedicating Saturday’s encounter as a ‘Fans of the Future’ game, supporters are being urged to bring the next generation of their family to the clash with Under-18 tickets just £3 in all areas.

Huddersfield Town Under 18s will also be hosting Crystal Palace in the Professional Development League on the pitch over the canal at 11am.

Monk’s fourth-placed side are just one position and two points above the Royals going into Saturday’s match at the Madejski Stadium.

Aside from the promotion race, there has been additional hostility between the two clubs after Reading boss Jaap Stam took exception to Leeds fans calling his side’s style of play boring during their meeting in December.

Monk, however, insists he is only interested in the game.

“We are very focused on ourselves, things outside of our control are irrelevant to us, we try to do our talking on the pitch and we will continue in that way,” he told Leeds’ official website.

“We were seven games unbeaten going into the (international) break and we want to try and continue that. I’m sure our focus will be the same and we are ready for these next eight games.” ■■Sheffield Wednesday travel to South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley attempting to get their play-off push back on track in the day’s early kick-off.

Norwich, one of the teams hoping to catch Wednesday, go to Aston Villa, while bottom club Rotherham will have their relegation confirmed if they fail to win at home to promotion-chasing Fulham.

Preston welcome struggling Nottingham Forest to Deepdale.
