Going bananas to raise awareness of fair trade

Armed with shopping trolleys laden with donated Fairtrade goodies, they walked around Honley and Holmfirth sharing informatio­n and handing out bananas and other Fairtrade products.

It makes use of volunteers who support the goals of Fairtrade but who may also be committed to the more general concepts of fair trade, ethical trading or concerned by developmen­t issues.

It was initially held in Scotland in 1997.
