The Giants have confirmed that their Ladbrokes Challenge Cup fifth round tie against Swinton Lions will take place on Sunday, April 23, with a kick-off time 12.30pm at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Giants managing director, Richard Thewlis, commented on the decision for a 12.30pm kickoff, and said: “We clearly have fixture congestion around the period of our fifth round cup tie and we are also mindful of our stadium partners, Huddersfield Town’s game the previous day – who we wish every success in their journey to the Premier League.

“The 12.30pm kick-off will be a new experiment for us but it is one, in the interest of player welfare and having taken every factor into consideration, we believe is the best option for us.

“We have priced the match competitively as the kick-off time enables Swinton’s supporters plenty of time to get across, including those involved in the
