Juniors make flying start to new campaign

TEAM Manager Tommy Ward has hailed a brilliant team performance as the Halifax, Huddersfield District Union Junior squad surge to victory in their opening match of the season.

They were up against the Harrogate Union and produced an excellent team performance to win 25-11.

The team easily won the afternoon singles after holding their more experienced opponents in the morning foursomes to 3-3.

“The Crosland Heath course was in superb condition and with the determination the juniors were showing in all the matches and it was a great winning effort from start to finish in what you can call an afternoon delight for the youngsters,” said Ward.
