Action from the District League top flight clash between Meltham (yellow) and Kirkheaton, which Meltham won 2-0 to secure the league title from their two or both will face the drop alongside Flockton.

In Division Four nothing could separate the top two sides as they played out a 3-3 draw.

Dalton remain top and are four points clear of Fothergill & Whittles with both sides having three matches remaining.

Cask’s chances of promotion took a hit as they were beaten 3-0 by fourth placed Littleborough.

With only two matches remaining, it’s looking like Mount will end the season at the bottom unless they can pick points up in both their remaining games.

In the Reserve Divisions it was the cup semi-final matches that took centre stage.

Heywoods played in two of them, but couldn’t find form in both, so while they beat Skelmanthorpe 1-0 in the FA Challenge Trophy, they lost to Kirkheaton 3-1 in the Richardson Cup.

Kirkheaton A were unable to make it an all ‘Yetton’ affair in the final as their B side lost to Linthwaite 1-0 in the other semi-final.

In the Gee Cup, Almondbury WMC will play against Uppermill in the final.

WMC of Reserve Division Four beat Reserve Division Three side Honley 2-1, while Uppermill beat Junction 6-3.

In the league, Diggle secured second place in Division One with a 3-1 victory over Britannia.

The only fixture played in Reserve Division Three was the top of the table clash with Dalton versus Uppermill.

This resulted in a 4-4 draw and means that Uppermill are second but have two matches to overtake AFC Dalton and are only a point behind.

In Reserve Division Four Fothergill kept up their charge to be the top side as they picked up six points this week against Hade Edge & Deighton, whilst Littleborough in second could only draw 3-3 with Westend meaning Fothergill are six points clear but both sides still have four matches remaining.

Third placed Deighton are well placed but not assured of promotion as Cumberworth ‘B’ and Uppermill ‘A’ still have matches in hand.
