See sense and save our building society branch

-

“There’s a sort of general disregard for comedy in the arts world. It’s thought to be inferior. But I think comedy is actually, generally speaking, more difficult than the serious stuff. And yet because it’s comedy it’s dismissed as froth, which is a shame” IT’S such a shame that the Yorkshire Building Society at Waterloo is closing, probably in May.

I have used this branch for many years and have always found it to be a very busy one, hence our amazement that it is being closed.

Customers have been notified that they can use the branch in Huddersfield town centre instead, but I have always found this branch to be an absolute nightmare – I have had to wait ages to be served which was very frustrating.

I also noticed that the offices where you can have an appointment to see someone are like a goldfish bowl where everyone could see you – no privacy whatsoever.

The Waterloo branch is a very popular one which is very convenient as you don’t have to travel into Huddersfield town centre which with ongoing roadworks in progress everywhere is an absolute nightmare, plus added to that is the cost of parking charges. Not at all helpful to customers in the HD8 area.

Please, higher management, reconsider the closure of this branch and see some sense. There are lots of people and businesses who use this branch and we have always found the staff there to be excellent and in a lovely, private office where you do not feel like you are in a goldfish bowl.

Whoever the female of the family is who was cast out for her perceived misdemeanours has my deepest sympathy, but she does have the hope of recovery if help is sought from the agencies available, many of which are run by those “inadequate no-hopers” to which Grieving Father refers.

I personally left school at 15 and worked continuously without ever receiving any benefits of any kind until I was 65. I have never burgled any premises and I have never stolen anything other than a few sticks of rhubarb from an allotment when I was a child (for which a policemen gave me a verbal caution).

I ran my own business for close to 30 years and duly paid all of my taxes but at a point in my life alcohol became a problem and I needed to seek help
