League president Graham wins Vic Sugden Handicap final
The West Riding Cup and Pilling Cup semi-finals will be played tomorrow.
In the West Riding it’s Pudsey BC A v Ossett Flying Horse at Elland (No2) and Lower Hopton v Harold Club at Rastrick.
The Pilling Cup semi-finals are Spen Victoria A v Pudsey Littlemoor A at Harold Club (Church Green) and Crossgates v Guiseley BC at Pudsey BC. THE Colne Valley League opened their 2017 season with the Vic Sugden Handicap final won by Tom Graham of Slaithwaite at sponsors Longwood.
The prelims on Saturday produced a quality 16 for the final day and Graham emerged as the winner after defeating Waterloo BC veteran Robert Mudd 21-20.
in an exciting final, Graham, who is the current League President, had to overcome two top Crosland Moor bowlers in Gary Siswick (21-20) and Mark Atkinson (21-17), before eventually beating Mark Bramall of Netherton Con 21-18 in the semi-finals.
Mudd, after beating John Webster of Crosland Moor 21-15 and Paul Ingleby of Meltham BC 21-10, turned a 16-7 semi-final deficit into a 21-19 victory against homester Graham Tandy.
