A LADIES’ night in Huddersfield has raised £2,000 for Kirkwood Hospice.

The event was held at the offices of Huddersfieldbased Ridley & Hall Solicitors.

The event marked Kirkwood Hospice’s 30th birthday and was in remembrance of the firm’s late colleague and friend, Helen Galsworthy.

Ann Silver, who organised the event, said: “What a great success it was! We have raised the amazing sum of £2,005. This could not have been achieved without the generosity of so many people and the help and support which I received from the staff at Ridley & Hall, Kirkwood Hospice and everyone who helped to make it a fantastic night.”

Attendees at the event enjoy nibbles and Prosecco, and were able to peruse stalls offering everything from clothing to hand crafted notebooks and relaxing hand massages.

Managing partner at Ridley & Hall, Adam Fletcher, added: “We were delighted to be able to host this event for the hospice, which is a cause very close to our heart. Queues were on the verge of spilling outside, as ladies lined up to enter the offices – which was fantastic to see.”

Dalton-based Kirkwood Hospice supports patients diagnosed with incurable conditions and their families at the most difficult of times. 12 years as a personal injury case consultant with Direct Line in Leeds, said: “I was struggling to find something suitable for my Muslim family and friends. There was a gap in the Shown at the presentation are (from left) Karen Uppal (marketing) Nicola Barber (Kirkwood Hospice fundraiser), Nigel Priestley (senior partner at Ridley & Hall), Ann Silver (event organiser) and Richard Clayton (Helen Galsworthy’s brother) market, so instead of waiting for someone else to launch a greeting card for Muslims I decided to do it myself.”

Registered Cards Association, she attended the Muslim Lifestyle Show in London and this summer plans to exhibit at Progressive Greetings in London.
