YORKSHIRE Ladies begin their challenge for the Inter-County Championsh­ip Trophy on Sunday when they play Shropshire, the current holders of the trophy.

The two teams met last year at the semi-final stage when Shropshire emerged the winners by just 30 points.

The Yorkshire Ladies, sponsored by Damart, will certainly be out to avenge that result.

The home team are playing at Meltham BC and the away team travelling to Wrockwardi­ne Wood.

The games begin at 2pm and, as always, support is very welcome - with good refreshmen­ts available at the home venue.

The Colne Valley team will be looking to bounce back from their shock defeat to Airedale when they play a strong-looking Nuneaton.

The away team will make the long journey to Bedworth Bowling Club and the home team have selected Milnsbridg­e BC as their venue.
