Past captains hit the road

■■Meltham’s Brendan Barrett and Longley Park’s Eddie Doherty were the winning pair in the Huddersfield Wednesday Golfing Society’s Fred Neary Trophy competition, winning the four-ball betterball competition where the top three pairs all scored 40 Stableford points. THE Woodsome Hall Past captains held their away event over three courses.

The courses played were Ormskirk, West Lancashire Golf Club at Blundellsands, where the winner was Geoff Headey, and at the Ashton-inMakerfield club.
