Cop this! – it’s a police supercar

-

recently hosted a Mono Experience Weekend on the island for its customers.

The Mono, which costs from £74,950, has a reputation of being one of the purist driver’s cars on the road and already it’s established a global fan-base.

The tie-up with the Isle of Man Constabulary will see the Mono used as an active member of the force’s fleet and the vehicle will also be on show at a number of local festivals to encourage safe and responsible driving.

The car is decked out in official police livery and will be driven by Pc Andy Greaves, an advanced driver, police motorcyclist and collision investigator who has been designated as the force’s dedicated Mono driver.

“It’s a remarkable vehicle, and clearly will be of huge interest to bikers and car drivers alike,” said Pc Greaves. “We are here to promote safe use of the road, and it’s amazing how many people want to talk to you when this is your transport.

“Every opportunity we get, we stop and talk to visitors. Having a show-stopper like a BAC Mono police car on the fleet makes that so much easier.”

Thousands of visitors head to the Isle of Man every year to enjoy some of the best driving roads and scenery in the world and for the annual TT races.

Neill Briggs, BAC co-founder and director of product development, said: “We have a very special affinity with the Isle of Man and we’re absolutely delighted to bring this extra-special Mono to a remarkable police force.

“The (Manx) Government has been nothing but amazingly supportive to BAC.”
