In the home clash, Josh Brown from Kirkheaton Con had an excellent debut, winning the £50 sweep and man-of-thematch award with his victory – helping the middle four pull 49 points back after Yorkshire trailed by six following the first four jacks (Craig Gant losing to Gary Ellis in the game of the day).

Wayne Moseley and Ashley Tattersley were also in terrific form in the middle matches, while the last four won comfortabl­y despite Ashley Daykin being defeated in the final game.

Yorkshire got off to a fast start in the away match, with Jack Dyson of Thongsbrid­ge among the early winners.
